The Coar Family

In Memoriam Robert Bockmiller, the compiler of the monograph Thomas Coar of Belfast, Ireland and His Descendants, died on 10 October 1999. Requiescat en pace, Bob.

This Web site is a live work-in-progress; updates happen all the time, though at irregular intervals. What we have is listed below and linked in the sidebar.

• NEW! (as of 2001-09-30) I have scanned in several of the photostat copies of photographs included in Bob Bockmillers monograph; you can see them by following the link in the sidebar. I also added a link to the records pages to the sidebar.
• Robert Bockmiller assembled a number of family group sheets together with a narrative history written by John Coar in 1908. The first 16 pages of the textual portion is available, though there may be inaccuracies or typos introduced by the scanning process.
• The index of family group records from Bob Bockmiller's monograph has been scanned in.
• There is a mailing list for online members of the Coar family. To join, send a message with "subscribe" as the only word in the body (not the subject!) of a message to <Coar-net-request@Coar.Name>. The archives of the list can be found here, though they're not indexed in any way -- just files containing monthly traffic.
